Alabama (CASA) Court Appointed Special Advocates serve as the voice for our abused and neglected children of Alabama in court.

The Alabama CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Network is committed to promoting awareness of child abuse and neglect in our state through the development of our local CASA programs and encourages efforts to ensure that every abused, neglected and/or abandoned child in Alabama will have a safe, nurturing, permanent home.

CASA/CAJA (Court Appointed Juvenile Advocate) programs assist the juvenile/family court in carrying out its role in the child protective services system. The CASA/CAJA volunteer is the "eyes and ears and often the heart of the court."

Children who have been assigned a CASA volunteer find a safe, permanent home:

  • More likely to be adopted.
  • Half as likely to re-enter foster care.
  • More likely to have a plan for permanency, especially children of color.

Children without CASA volunteer involvement are spending an avg. of over 8 months longer in care, compared to children having a CASA involvement.

Listen to the videos where our volunteers, foster parents and the judge explain why CASA is so important. They are on the front lines and making a difference on a daily basis.

There are 7,000 children in care and we were able to serve over 600 last year. We believe every child should have a CASA and we need your help to make that happen. If you want to invest in an organization that changes lives, CASA is the right organization.

In one year, your donation of any amount will:

  • Be the difference to over 7000 abused and neglected children.
  • Advocate for public policy that directly impacts Alabama's children.
  • Ensure that every abused and neglected child has a safe, permanent home.
  • Grow new CASA programs so we can serve more children.
  • Give a foster child a chance at a brighter future.

There is no recession in child abuse. We cannot all be a volunteer; however we can all play a role in the CASA mission. Please support us with your giving on Alabama Gives Day.

By the time the clock strikes 12 tonight, we hope you will be part of something that has the power to truly make a difference in our community.

Thank you!
Alabama CASA Network- Board and Staff
