Alabama Youth Homes

Since 1991, we have served over 2,000 boys and girls throughout the state. Each of these children have a special place in our hearts here at the Alabama Youth Homes.

Take Lee, for example, he had a few run ins with the law and was brought to us as part of our Department of Youth Services program. During his time there, it became clear that his home life was a big factor in his negative behavior and soon he was transferred to our Department of Human Resources home.

Once Lee was settled in, he began what seemed like an uphill battle. But soon he found his stride. He was going to school everyday. He was enrolled in a vocational training program. He was working part time. Here, he was safe. He was able to see what his potential could really be.

Unfortunately, Lee's home life was not improving. Lee continued to be with us until he graduated from high school. Now, he is a young man. He has a full time job and a wonderful fiancee. He has made a life for himself and stayed out of trouble.

And that is what we hope for each of our children. A life worth living. One free of abuse and neglect. It can happen. It does happen. Every day here at the Alabama Youth Homes.
