Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarship Program - Providing College Scholarships to Deserving Students!

The Jimmy Rane Foundation was created in 2000 with a simple, yet powerful idea. "It's about giving something back," Jimmy says. And that's exactly what he's done. In 2002, the Foundation awarded its first scholarship to a deserving student pursuing a dream of a college education. This young man from Abbeville, Alabama, was only the beginning.

Over the next few years, the Jimmy Rane Foundation scholarship program grew in every direction. With the assistance of both corporate and individual sponsors, the Foundation has awarded more than 175 scholarships to outstanding and deserving students. The growth of the scholarship program has been heart-warming. But the decisions about who will receive scholarship support have gotten harder and harder. Tuition and other costs continue to increase in colleges and universities across the country, and more families are facing tough times and tough choices about their children's educational futures. Hundreds of scholarship recipient applications are received each year - many more than the Foundation has the resources to assist. As Jimmy likes to point out, if you're really poor or really smart, you can find financial aid, but his heart is just as big for the average kids from average families who are also deserving of a chance to pursure their dreams. The hope of the Foundation is that this scholarship program can give them a helping hand too - and that, one day, these young men and women will return the favor to someone else in need.
