The Morgan County Child Advocacy Center provides help and healing to children who have been abused.

The Morgan County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) provides help and healing to children and their families.

Child Advocacy Centers were created to ensure that the agencies involved in interviewing abused children work together as a team to minimize trauma to the child. The Morgan County CAC provides an array of services to children who have been sexually and physically abused including forensic interviews, victim advocacy, and therapy to help children heal from the trauma of abuse. Telling the story of abuse can be very difficult for children. The Morgan County CAC works with the district attorney's office, law enforcement, and the Department of Human Resources to limit the number of times abused children tell their story. The Morgan County Child Advocacy Center provides state-of-the-art therapy services to any child or family referred by local law enforcement or the Morgan County Department of Human Resources. All services provided by the Morgan County CAC are free to children and their families. The mission of the Morgan County Multidisciplinary Team is to provide excellence in the investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse.

Child sexual abuse continues to be a frequently occurring tragedy for children and families. Statistics suggest that 1 in 4 females experience childhood sexual abuse and 1 in 6 males are sexually abused.

Donor support is critical to our agency's mission of helping children who have been abused. Every child deserves to feel safe and protected. Your donation will make the difference in the lives of abused children who look to all of us to make the hurt stop.

Help us help abused children by making a donation to the Morgan County CAC.

As a therapist and forensic interviewer at the CAC, I love my job. This is a great organization to give. I am humbled to serve the children and families of Morgan County. I take great comfort in knowing that the CAC is a place where I know that we really do make a difference!

The CAC staff met today to discuss, among other things, the upcoming Alabama Gives fundraiser. We started talking about the great privilege and honor that we feel every day working with the children and the families that turn to us for help. I can honestly say that I have never worked any place where I went home at the end of every single day knowing that I had made a difference in the life of a child. A couple of our staff members were inspired today when we were talking about why we do what we do. If you would like to read more, just visit our website at www.morgancountycac.org.
