The Alabama-Mississippi Chapter serves 6,300 individuals and families affected by multiple sclerosis.

The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now - to move together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. MS stops people from moving. We exist to make sure it doesn't.

We help each person address the challenges of living with MS through the work of our Chapter. The Society helps people affected by MS by funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.

  • We are moving research forward by relentlessly pursuing prevention, treatment and cure. Right here in the state of Alabama, we are funding over $3 million in research intiatives at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of South Alabama.
  • We are moving to reach out and respond to individuals, families and communities living with multiple sclerosis. We provided $50,278 in emergency financial assistance to our Alabama and Mississippi Clients in 2011.
  • We are moving politicians and legislation to champion the needs of people with MS through activism, advocacy and influence. We advocated at both state and federal levels last year on behalf of the 6,300 people we serve in Alabama and Missisisppi.
  • We are moving to mobilize the millions of people who want to do something about MS now. This is where YOU come in! Join the movement today and donate to our cause.

As an organization whose vision is to create a world free of multiple sclerosis, the Society strives to live by a set of core values which guide our work and our actions on a daily basis.
