The mission of NorthStar Youth Ministries is helping youth find their direction. We target youth in west Birmingham.

NorthStar was founded in 1996 by Paul Neville after he and his wife Jocelyn began living in the community in 1993. Paul founded the ministry to strengthen his efforts to participate in community development and to focus on the needs of youth in the community. Over the years, the primary programs have become: Camp NorthStar (a top quality, summer educational enrichment program); NorthStar Soccer Club (producing teams that compete regionally and players who go on to play competitively); and our supporting After-School Programs (tutoring, Book Club & discipleship groups). In 2009 Val Kikkert Peterson joined the ministry and became the Soccer Club Director as well as playing other vital roles with the ministry.

NorthStar Youth Ministries is successful because of the commitment of so many parents, community leaders, volunteers and contributors who have all supported and shaped the effort over the years.
