Twenty-four (24) hours a day, 365 days each year, the doors of the Ronald McDonald House open to welcome families of sick or injured children.

On any night, open the door of the House. You probably will find 41 families and approximately 100 individual guests resting in cozy family bedrooms, cooking, laundry, recreational and internet facilities, and welcoming dinners prepared by House volunteers. Birmingham's Ronald McDonald House charges just $5 to $10 per night for services that cost more than $65 per night to provide. Last year, the House provided over 1,200 guest stays; an estimated 33,000 stays since the House opened in 1979.

    RMH was not just a place to stay for us. During our very difficult extended time at the hospital, RMH was our family, our home, our support and our friends. We will always, always be grateful for you.

    My grandson Christian Kime was born with CDH and we had to stay at the Ronald McDonald house when he was born. Don't know what we would of done without them. Thank-you for all you do!!

    RMCA was there for my niece, Avery June Eason, when she was an 'outpaient' at Children's Hospital B'ham. They were so good to Avery and her parents, we would not have survived with out their generosity. Thank you Ronald McDonald House!

    The staff and volunteers at the RMHCA work tirelessly to keep the families of sick and injured children together during difficult times. While the services provided to each family cost $65+ per night, the RMHCA only charges $5-$10 to stay. Help us support this GREAT cause!

    There is no place like home, but Ronald McDonald House provides a great alternative for many families with ill children who may otherwise live in their cars or the hospital lobby while their child is treated. The dedicated staff and board of directors make the guests feel at home--thank you!
