Triumph provides community-based support to individuals with developmental disabilities such as autism who are trying to live independently.

Triumph Services, Inc., a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization, was founded on August 1, 2007. Triumph offers an alternative form of support to individuals with developmental disabilities, provided in a community-based and non-restrictive manner. Triumph supports individuals to grow in independence, to assume greater personal responsibility, and to increase community involvement.

When Triumph began in August 2007, there were sixteen individuals who were identified as needing the immediate services of life coaching, supported employment, and social activity coordination. Immediately, it was evident that Triumph serves a group of individuals who have been historically underserved.

Triumph has experienced a 700% growth in the number of individual’s served since it’s opening. This growth affirms that there is a tremendous need for the services Triumph provides.

We believe that individuals with developmental disabilities are first and foremost, individuals. They deserve recognition, respect, and integration into all aspects of society. Like all individuals, they too have interdependent relationships with friends, family members, and community organizations.

We believe that individuals learn how to manage their homes in their homes, how to perform job skills on an actual job, and how to be social in real social settings.

We believe that individuals create their own vision and dreams for their lives.

Based upon this philosophy, Triumph’s staff assists individuals to develop their own personal goals in the areas of independent living, supported employment, and social activity. Triumph then provides or coordinates the essential supports necessary for the individual to implement these goals. Through these and other activities, Triumph strives to empower individuals to expand their sense of self-determination and fulfillment in life.

Approximately 71% of the individuals receiving services have a diagnosis of either Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. With the number of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum disorders growing at an epidemic rate (1 in 110 births), the services Triumph provides are crucial as these children grow into adults. Triumph works closely with other organizations such as the Autism Asperger’s Consulting Group, The Autism Society of Alabama, UCP of Greater Birmingham, The Arc, and Glenwood, Inc., to ensure that the services we provide are addressing the most important areas of need for individuals on the Autism Spectrum.

Triumph serves individuals within a 30 mile radius of Birmingham. These cities include: Homewood (35209), Vestavia Hills (35216), Cahaba Heights (35243), Hoover (35244), Hueytown (35023), Bessemer (35020), Pelham (35124), Chelsea (35043), Leeds (35094), Trussville (35173), Center Point (35215), Pell City (35125), Gardendale (35071), Springville (35146), Hayden (35079), Sumiton (35148), Dora (35062), Parrish (35580) and Montevallo (35115).
